Bomb Threat Targets Trisha’s Residence

A bomb threat directed at the Chennai residence of prominent South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan triggered widespread alarm on Monday morning, prompting a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement and specialised security units.

According to Times of India, the Tamil Nadu Police Control Room received multiple emails around 9:30 a.m. on 13 April, claiming that a powerful explosive device had been planted at the actress’s home. The message warned that the alleged device could detonate at any moment, raising immediate concerns over the safety of the property, its occupants, and the surrounding neighbourhood.

In response, local police teams, alongside a Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS), rushed to the scene. The operation included a thorough search of the residence and adjacent areas, supported by trained sniffer dogs and advanced detection equipment. For several hours, security personnel combed through the premises as residents and nearby onlookers were moved away as a precautionary measure.

After an extensive inspection, authorities confirmed that no suspicious object or explosive material had been found. The threat was subsequently declared a hoax, with officials assuring that there was no actual danger to the public.

Timeline of the Incident

Time/Date Event
13 April, ~9:30 a.m. Multiple threatening emails received by Tamil Nadu Police Control Room
Shortly after Claim made that explosives were placed at actress Trisha’s residence
Morning–Afternoon Police, BDDS, and sniffer dogs conduct detailed search operation
After search completion No explosives or suspicious items discovered
Later statement Authorities confirm incident as a hoax

This is not the first time the actress has been subjected to such alarming threats. Police records indicate that a similar bomb threat was issued against her residence on 2 October 2025. On that occasion as well, an intensive search operation yielded no evidence of any explosive device, and the threat was later dismissed as false.

The recurrence of such incidents has raised serious concerns among authorities, particularly regarding the targeted nature of the threats. Police and cybercrime investigators have now launched a detailed inquiry to trace the origin of the emails and identify those responsible for issuing repeated hoax alerts.

Officials have emphasised that making false bomb threats is a serious criminal offence, disrupting public order and diverting significant security resources.

Despite the unsettling episode, Trisha Krishnan continues to remain professionally active. She is currently engaged in filming Vishwambhara, where she stars opposite veteran actor Chiranjeevi.
