Three Arrested Across Rajbari and Faridpur in Yaba Raids

Law enforcement officers have arrested three individuals and confiscated over 900 yaba tablets in separate anti-narcotics drives across Rajbari and neighboring Faridpur districts. The police operations resulted in the seizure of 800 yaba pills in Pangsha Upazila and another 103 pills in Madhukhali Upazila, where a married couple was caught red-handed.

In Rajbari, detective branch (DB) police raided a residential property in Bashgram village, situated within the Yashai Union of Pangsha Upazila, at around 5:30 pm on Sunday, 26 July. Acting on specific intelligence, officers searched the home of Md Fazlul Haque, son of the late Aziz Munshi. During the raid, detectives recovered 800 contraband yaba tablets concealed inside a dressing table drawer in his bedroom, leading to his immediate arrest.

Confirming the operation in a press statement issued on Monday, 27 July 2026, Officer-in-Charge of the Rajbari District Detective Branch, Md Mafizul Islam, stated that Sub-Inspector Md Wahidul Hasan has filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act at Pangsha Model Police Station.

Meanwhile, a parallel operation unfolded in Faridpur’s Madhukhali Upazila on Sunday afternoon. Around 4:00 pm, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Md Masud Hossain raided a homestead in Paschim Arpara village. Officers apprehended 35-year-old Bakel Molla, also known as Bappi, alongside his 27-year-old wife, Nurjahan Akter Urmi, while the pair were engaged in selling narcotics. A subsequent search yielded 103 yaba tablets.

Officer-in-Charge of Madhukhali Police Station, Sukdeb Roy, revealed that Bakel Molla is a habitual offender with nearly a dozen drug-related cases pending against him. A fresh case under the Narcotics Control Act has been registered against the couple, and officers produced both suspects before a Faridpur court on Monday morning.
