Overnight hostilities between Russia and Ukraine have resulted in at least three fatalities, as both sides carried out aerial attacks targeting residential and strategic locations. Officials confirmed one civilian death in Ukraine’s Dnipro, while Russia reported two casualties following a Ukrainian drone strike in its Rostov region.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov confirmed the death of one resident in a high-rise residential building targeted during the night. In a Telegram post, he appealed to citizens:
“I understand that there aren’t enough shelters, but I must say: during shelling, it is absolutely not advisable to stay on the upper floors—especially when underground parking areas are available.”
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported nearly three hours of continuous bombardment, noting that Russia deployed a mix of weaponry, including:

In Zaporizhzhia, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has renewed his calls for a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, aiming to bring the conflict to a diplomatic resolution. Kyiv has suggested holding talks by the end of August, though the Kremlin has signalled little optimism.
