The New England Revolution have announced that they have parted ways with head coach Caleb Porter after a difficult run of form, having secured just two wins in 15 matches since May, the Major League Soccer club confirmed on Monday.
Porter, 50, a two-time MLS Cup champion, leaves the Revolution with a record of 23 wins, 39 losses, and 13 draws across all competitions during nearly two seasons in charge. He took over from Bruce Arena ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Toronto FC, the Revolution sit at 8 wins, 14 losses, and 8 draws, accumulating 32 points, which places them 10 points outside the final Eastern Conference playoff spot with four matches remaining in the season.
Assistant coach Pablo Moreira will step in as interim head coach for the remainder of the campaign.
Curt Onalfo, the Revolution’s sporting director, commented: “I’m very grateful to Caleb Porter for the energy, effort, and dedication he has brought to the Revolution over the last two years. I have the utmost respect for Caleb and all the tireless work he has invested in the club, and we wish him the best moving forward.”
Porter has enjoyed a distinguished MLS coaching career with multiple clubs:
| Club | MLS Cup | Record |
| Portland Timbers | 2015 | 160 wins, 111 losses, 144 draws (career totals including all clubs) |
| Columbus Crew | 2020 | MLS Cup champions |
Despite his personal successes, the Revolution have struggled under his tenure. The team missed the MLS playoffs last year and are on course to miss them again this season.
