Director Amitabh Reza has been residing in New York for several months now. Earlier this year, in March, he announced the launch of a virtual school named Cinema Pathshala from there. Today, on Friday, it has been revealed that the filmmaker is set to marry. The wedding ceremony will take place tomorrow morning (local time in New York) with the groom and bride exchanging vows. The bride’s name is Mushfika Masud, a scriptwriter and director by profession. Both Amitabh and Mushfika confirmed the news of their wedding.
Amitabh shared a photo of the two together on Facebook, writing: “Sometimes a co-traveller, sometimes a comrade, but I never thought I would spend my life with someone more mischievous than me. Oh, life…” The post has received many congratulatory comments from various entertainment industry figures.
Mushfika Masud described Amitabh as “an amazing person, extraordinarily talented, and an excellent filmmaker. We speak the same language. To be honest, the way he loves, no Bengali can love in this way—it’s truly unbelievable. His love has taught me how to love.” Earlier, Mushfika posted on Facebook about Amitabh, writing: “There is only one person who resides in the depths of my soul… and that’s you, you know.” She posted a photo of the two of them, adding: “Together, we are incredibly strong.” In the comments under that photo, Amitabh wrote: “You are my beauty, you are my life… my Charlie Chaplin.” Mushfika replied: “And you are my Omkar-Wai.”
