The blaze erupted at Aman Plastic Factory in the Narikel Bagh area of Keraniganj. Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the incident and began working to bring the flames under control.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no casualties have been reported so far.
According to the Fire Service, the first unit arrived at the factory seven minutes after receiving the alert at around 12.25 pm. Four more units subsequently joined the firefighting operation, bringing the initial deployment to five units.
As the situation developed, three additional units were sent to the scene to reinforce the response and help contain the fire. A total of eight units are now working together to tackle the blaze.
The immediate priority for emergency crews is to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further. Fires at plastic manufacturing facilities can pose particular challenges because combustible materials and plastic products may contribute to the spread of flames and produce dense smoke when burning. However, there has been no official confirmation of the materials involved in this particular incident or the extent of the fire’s spread.
Details of any damage to the factory, machinery, raw materials or finished products have yet to be established. It is also unclear whether production activities were under way when the fire broke out.
The cause of the incident and the scale of the financial losses remain unknown. No further information has been provided about whether anyone was trapped inside the premises or whether nearby buildings were affected.
Firefighters continue to work at the site, with the eight units coordinating their efforts to bring the situation under control. The extent of the damage and any further developments are expected to become clearer once the firefighting operation progresses and the relevant authorities are able to assess the scene.
