The victims have been identified as Aziz and Enamul, both aged 15 and Class IX students at Kasba Municipal High School, along with Najmul and Samir, aged 14, who study in Class VIII at Achkina Kullabari Private Modern High School.

Witnesses and local sources revealed that the teenagers had gathered at the tutor’s home for evening lessons. An argument erupted between the two groups of students regarding gameplay tactics and achievements in the battle royale game Free Fire. What began as a heated verbal spat quickly escalated out of control. Moving outside the tutor’s immediate supervision, the adolescents drew concealed knives and attacked one another, leaving four boys bleeding with stab wounds.

Alerted by the commotion, local residents rushed to the spot, rescued the injured students, and transported them immediately to the Kasba Upazila Health Complex.

Dr Atiq Akram, a attending physician at the health complex, confirmed that all four patients arrived at the emergency department bearing stab wounds. Following initial medical care, doctors referred two of the boys to Cumilla Medical College Hospital due to the severity of their injuries, whilst the remaining two continue to receive treatment at the upazila facility.

The incident has triggered profound concern among local residents and parents regarding the growing addiction to online gaming and the unsettling access adolescents have to sharp weapons. When approached for a statement regarding the violent clash, Officer-in-Charge of Kasba Police Station, Ali Mohammad Rashed, stated that he had not yet been formally informed of the incident, adding that lawful action would follow upon receiving an official complaint.
