Prime Bank strengthens its transparency efforts through release of sustainability and climate action reports

Prime Bank PLC has published its Sustainability Report and Climate Action Report as part of its commitment to institutionalising sustainability and climate-aligned practices within the financial sector. The reports were formally unveiled at The Westin Dhaka by Chowdhury Liakat Ali, director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank, according to a press release.

In his speech, Ali highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability policies and implementation mechanisms in achieving responsible banking. He outlined the central bank’s regulatory expectations and praised Prime Bank’s long-term approach.

CEO Hassan O Rashid stated that embedding sustainability within the bank’s operational and strategic structure is the central objective behind publishing these reports. He noted that aligning with global climate priorities has become a necessity for financial institutions.

Prime Bank highlighted its CSR initiatives focusing on climate resilience and community-driven sustainable development. The press release stated that the reports signify the bank’s commitment to transparency, accountability and leadership in climate action aligned with national and international sustainability goals.
