In a fresh round of administrative reshuffles, the Bangladesh Police has transferred and reassigned six officers holding the ranks of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Assistant Superintendent of Police. The decision was confirmed through an official notification issued by the Police Headquarters’ Personnel Management-1 branch.
According to the directive, the transfers have been made in the public interest and will remain effective until further notice. The order, signed on Wednesday (25 March) by Additional Deputy Inspector General Khandakar Shamima Yasmin, instructs the officers concerned to assume their new responsibilities promptly.
The reshuffle reflects the organisation’s ongoing efforts to optimise operational efficiency and ensure effective deployment of experienced personnel across key units. Such administrative changes are a routine feature within the police service, often aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and addressing evolving operational priorities.
Among those reassigned, Additional Superintendent of Police Md Al Amin Sarker has been attached to Police Headquarters in a temporary reserve (TR) capacity and posted to the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh. ASP Mansur Alam Kaderi has been transferred to the Special Branch (SB) in Dhaka, while ASP Murshid Jahan has been posted to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn). Meanwhile, ASP Kazi Hasan Uddin has been assigned duties at Police Headquarters.
In addition, Assistant Police Commissioner Mahidul Hasan has been redesignated as an Assistant Superintendent of Police and posted to Police Headquarters in a TR role. Similarly, Assistant Police Commissioner Md Jahangir Kabir has been appointed as an Assistant Superintendent and assigned to the same headquarters.
A summary of the key postings is presented below:
| Officer Name | Previous Rank/Role | New Posting/Assignment |
|---|---|---|
| Md Al Amin Sarker | Additional SP | Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh (via PHQ) |
| Mansur Alam Kaderi | Additional SP | Special Branch (SB), Dhaka |
| Murshid Jahan | Additional SP | Armed Police Battalion (APBn) |
| Kazi Hasan Uddin | Additional SP | Police Headquarters |
| Mahidul Hasan | Assistant Police Commissioner | Assistant SP, Police Headquarters (TR) |

The notification further stipulates that all transferred officers must hand over their current responsibilities by 8 April. Failure to comply will result in their being considered automatically released from their present posts (“stand released”) with effect from 9 April.
Administrative reshuffles of this nature are often seen as part of broader governance mechanisms within the Bangladesh Police, aimed at maintaining discipline, enhancing accountability, and ensuring that key positions are staffed by officers whose skills align with institutional needs.
