US Secretary of State Congratulates Bangladesh Independence Day

In a message marking the occasion of Bangladesh’s Independence Day, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended his warm congratulations to the people of Bangladesh.

The statement, released on Wednesday, 25 March, expressed the Secretary’s admiration for Bangladesh’s journey and achievements. “On behalf of the United States, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of their Independence Day,” the statement read.

Highlighting the country’s recent political developments, Rubio noted that Bangladesh is entering a new chapter in its history following the latest elections. “This Independence Day is being celebrated against the backdrop of a historic transition, marking a significant moment for the nation,” he said.

The Secretary emphasised the enduring partnership between the United States and Bangladesh. He stated that both countries share a common vision of promoting a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. This cooperation spans multiple areas, including trade, security, and regional development, reflecting a commitment to mutual prosperity.

Rubio further reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to strengthening economic and security collaboration with Bangladesh in the coming years. He expressed hope that bilateral ties would continue to deepen, ensuring that both nations’ peoples benefit from closer engagement.
