A crack has appeared on the railway line near pillar number 253 beside the Madhnagar Railway Station in Naldanga upazila of Natore. According to railway officials, the rail track split due to the intense cold. However, train services were not disrupted.

Railway authorities stated that the repair work was completed by Monday afternoon (8 December). Earlier in the morning, local residents noticed the crack and informed the railway authorities.

Nazmul Hossain, a local village police member who witnessed the incident, said he spotted the crack early in the morning and alerted the authorities. Trains continued to run over the cracked section, although repair work began later around noon.

Madhnagar Station Master Abdul Awal said they received the information at 6:35 am and informed the Santahar Station Master. The repair team arrived on the Barendra train and began their work.

He also said that cracks like this are seen almost every year due to metal contraction caused by severe cold. Such cracks generally do not cause major disruption to train movement.

Railway trolleyman Zulfikar Hossain mentioned that after informing the higher authorities, repair work commenced promptly. By around 11:30 am, railway workers completed the repairs. During the repair period, trains passed over the section cautiously at reduced speed. Train operations are now fully normal.
