Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal were scheduled to marry on 23 November. Despite completing all formal preparations, including mehendi and haldi ceremonies, their wedding was abruptly cancelled. Initially, the cancellation was attributed to Smriti’s father’s ill health, but rumours soon spread widely.
Smriti later confirmed on Instagram that her wedding with Palash had been called off. Meanwhile, Palash also posted on his story that he intends to move on from the past. Although he did not explicitly discuss the cancellation, he warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading baseless rumours.
Palash wrote, “I have decided to move on in life and step back from personal relationships.” He added, “It is alarming how quickly people react to unfounded rumours. My team will take legal measures against anyone spreading false and defamatory information about me.”
Following the cancellation, screenshots of conversations with another woman circulated on social media. Palash dismissed these as rumours. Indian media reported that a woman named Mary D’Costa claimed Palash had invited her for swimming and expressed frustration for not spending more time with Smriti.
After the matter became public, both parties confirmed the wedding had been cancelled. However, Palash issued a strict warning against those spreading false information.
