Unreleased Lucky Akhand Track Published Posthumously

A previously unpublished composition by Lucky Akhand has been released, adding to the collection of songs he composed but did not formally publish during his lifetime. The track, titled ‘Na Dukkho Diye’, features lyrics written by Golam Morshed and has been performed by singer Swaralipi.

The song has been made available on the YouTube channel of the production company Gaan Janala. The musical arrangement was undertaken by Sajib Das, while the music video has been jointly directed by Rumki Rusa and Mashrur Hossain.

In a statement regarding the release, Golam Morshed said that he had written numerous songs for Lucky Akhand, several of which remain unreleased. He identified ‘Na Dukkho Diye’ as one of his most preferred works, indicating that it ranks among the top three songs he has written. He also expressed the view that the song is likely to be well received by listeners, citing Swaralipi’s capabilities as a contemporary artist.

Swaralipi noted that performing a composition by Lucky Akhand represents an important opportunity in her career. She explained that, although artists record many songs, certain pieces carry distinct personal value and contribute to artistic fulfilment. She stated that this song is expected to remain significant in her repertoire.

Earlier in the same month, on 15 April, another song composed by Lucky Akhand and written by Golam Morshed, titled ‘Jar Kachhe Mon Rekhe’, was released. These releases have occurred in proximity to the commemoration of Lucky Akhand’s death anniversary on 21 April. The musician died in 2017 after a prolonged battle with lung cancer.

Golam Morshed confirmed that he retains several additional compositions created by Lucky Akhand. From this collection, he has recently facilitated the release of two songs in succession. The initiative has enabled previously unheard material to reach audiences, thereby extending the availability of Lucky Akhand’s work several years after his death.
