Community Reaction

The rapid succession of deaths has left residents unsettled. Locals suggest that such frequent fatalities in a short period are unusual and raise questions about public safety, social tension, and mental health issues.

Benjir Ahmed Munshi, headteacher of Chengar Char Government Model High School in Motlob North, stressed the need for family counselling and mental health support:

“Preventing social unrest and addressing depression requires urgent family-level counselling. We must also pay special attention to the mental health of our young population.”

Police Response

Efforts to contact Assistant Superintendent of Police, Motlob Circle, Jabir Husnain Sanib were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered.

However, Chandpur Additional Superintendent of Police, Md. Lutfur Rahman, confirmed that police are actively monitoring the situation:

“We are aware that several deaths have occurred in Motlob over a short period. Each case is being investigated separately and with full seriousness. The matter is under close observation, and if any criminal evidence is found, strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.”

Broader Concerns

The spate of deaths highlights several pressing issues: domestic disputes, mental health challenges, and the risks of electrical and occupational hazards. Community leaders have urged authorities to implement awareness campaigns on mental well-being, conflict resolution, and electrical safety, alongside robust police oversight to reassure citizens.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or hazardous situations promptly, while local officials are expected to increase patrolling and monitoring to prevent further tragedies.
