Samira Had No Fault: Don

The mystery surrounding the death of legendary Bangladeshi actor Salman Shah has resurfaced, as a court has directed an investigation into a murder case related to his demise.

The fourth accused in the case is veteran actor Ashraful Haque Don, while the prime accused is Salman Shah’s ex-wife Samira Haque. Other individuals named in the case include producer Aziz Mohammad Bhai, Latifa Haque Lucy, David, Javed, Faruq, Ruby of Mefiar Beauty Center, Abdus Sattar, Saju, and Rezvi Ahmed Farhad.

Nearly five years ago, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) concluded that Shah’s death was not a murder but a suicide. At that time, Don expressed relief, saying,

“Whatever Allah does, He does for the best. Finally, I am cleared from the false accusation of killing my close friend.”

Recently, an old interview of Don on Shahria Nazim Joy’s popular talk show Sense of Humor has gone viral amid ongoing discussions about Salman Shah’s death. In the show, Joy directly asked,

“Who could be responsible for Salman Shah’s suicide—his mother, or his wife?”

Initially, Don avoided the question, calling it a family matter. However, he later stated that he saw no fault in Salman’s wife Samira Haque, adding,

“The kind of love Salman and Samira had, I have never seen in my life.”

When Joy followed up with, “So Samira had no fault?”, Don replied,

“I did not see any fault.”

Don also revealed that Salman Shah had been mentally very unstable during the final months of his life. He remarked,

“Despite being a superstar with wealth, cars, and property, why did Salman commit suicide? For six to seven months, I never saw him at peace—not even sitting calmly or speaking normally.”

The renewed attention on this case underscores the enduring public fascination with the life and untimely death of Bangladesh’s beloved film icon.
