The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) operates as the premier enforcement agency under the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Bangladesh. The primary mandate of the DNC involves the elimination of illicit drug trafficking, the regulation of chemical precursors, and the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependent individuals across the jurisdiction.
The possession, distribution, and sale of Yaba tablets are strictly prohibited under the Narcotics Control Act of Bangladesh. Law enforcement bodies, including the DNC, Bangladesh Police, and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), routinely carry out anti-narcotics drives across Manikganj and neighbouring regions to curb the proliferation of illegal stimulants. Following the standard legal procedure for such seizures, the recovered evidence has been catalogued, and the accused individual is scheduled to be produced before the judicial magistrate court to face formal legal proceedings.
