Born on the same day and raised side by side, three triplet sisters from Kurigram have set a rare academic milestone by simultaneously securing talent-pool scholarships in the primary scholarship examinations.
The three exceptionally meritorious students—Tabia Rahman, Tahia Rahman, and Takia Rahman—are the daughters of Tariqur Rahman Tariq, a prominent advocate at the Kurigram District Judge Court, and Shahina Akhter, a homemaker. Their concurrent success has sparked widespread celebration and immense pride amongst their family, educators, and neighbours in the region.
Local academic sources revealed that the sisters achieved their stellar results in the 2025 primary scholarship examinations, which serve as a critical benchmark for young learners across Bangladesh. While Tahia Rahman and Takia Rahman sat for the highly competitive exams from Kurigram Government Girls’ High School, Tabia Rahman represented Arjundara Government Primary School. Despite attending different institutions during their primary years, all three showcased uniform academic excellence by securing the coveted talent-pool bracket.
Following their stellar performances, the sisters have transitioned into secondary education for the current 2026 academic year. Tahia and Takia have chosen to continue their academic journey at Kurigram Government Girls’ High School, enrolling in Class VI. Meanwhile, Tabia has moved to the prestigious Kurigram Border Guard School, where she is also studying in Class VI.
Family members noted that the triplets have exhibited a profound passion for learning from early childhood. Their daily routine revolved around disciplined study habits, constructive mutual cooperation, and steady encouragement from their parents. Instead of viewing academic tasks as a solitary burden, the sisters created a collaborative learning environment at home. The achievements and dedication of one sibling consistently acted as a catalyst, inspiring the other two to elevate their own academic performance.
Reflecting on the rare feat, their father, Advocate Tariqur Rahman Tariq, expressed deep gratitude. He remarked that the achievement was a blessing and shared his profound hope that his daughters would grow up to be well-educated, responsible citizens who serve society as exemplary human beings.
The extraordinary nature of the event has also caught the attention of local academic veterans. Mirza Nasir Uddin, the former Principal of Kurigram Government College, lauded the sisters’ unified triumph. He commented that for three triplet sisters from a single household to win talent-pool scholarships simultaneously is a genuinely rare phenomenon. He added that this unique academic achievement brings immense honour not only to their immediate family but to the entire district of Kurigram.
