Full Report:
As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, renowned Baloch writer and activist Mir Yar Baloch has made a dramatic declaration of independence for Balochistan from Pakistan. Using the social media platform X, Baloch made a series of impassioned statements calling for international support, including formal recognition by the United Nations.
He called on India to permit the establishment of a Baloch embassy in New Delhi, marking a bold step towards formal diplomatic relations. In one of his posts, he stated:
“A possible announcement should soon be made as the collapse of terrorist Pakistan is near. We have claimed our independence and request India to allow Balochistan’s official office and embassy in Delhi.”
Appeal for International Support
Mir Yar Baloch further urged the United Nations to immediately recognise the “Democratic Republic of Balochistan” and to convene a meeting of all UN member states for this purpose. He emphasised the need for significant financial support for the printing of currency and passports for the nascent state.
“We also ask the United Nations to recognise the independence of the Democratic Republic of Balochistan and call a meeting of all UN members to lend your support for recognition.”

He also demanded the immediate withdrawal of Pakistani military forces from Balochistan, including the removal of non-Baloch personnel from all security and administrative roles, stating:
“All non-Baloch personnel in the army, frontier corps, police, military intelligence, ISI, and civil administration must leave Balochistan immediately.”
Call for Peacekeepers
In a direct appeal to the UN, he requested the deployment of peacekeeping forces to stabilise the region, demanding that the Pakistani military vacate Baloch territory, including its airspace and territorial waters, and leave behind all military assets:
“We urge the UN to immediately send its peacekeeping missions in Balochistan and ask Pakistan’s occupational army to vacate the territories, airspace, and sea of Balochistan and leave all the weapons and property in Balochistan.”
Formation of Transitional Government
Mir Yar Baloch also outlined plans for a transitional interim government, promising representation for Baloch women in the new administration as part of his commitment to the Baloch people.
“The control of Balochistan will soon be handed over to the new government of the independent Balochistan state, and a transitional conclusive interim government will soon be announced. Representation of Baloch women in the cabinet is the fulfilment of commitment to our nation.”
Provocative Message to Pakistan
In a defiant message to the Pakistani military, Baloch declared:
“Hey Na-Pakistan. If you have an army, we Baloch have our army too. Baloch freedom fighters attack.”
Recent Clashes and Attacks
The declaration follows a series of violent confrontations between India and Pakistan. On 7th May, India targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) as part of “Operation Sindoor.” In retaliation, Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks on Indian military and civilian positions, escalating the conflict further.
In response, India reportedly shot down incoming drones and missiles, including Pakistani fighter jets and an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft.
