Portugal reached the final after eliminating Argentina in the semi-final. In the third-place play-off, Spain defeated Argentina 5–1, with Laura Cordoba scoring twice.
Brazil’s coach, Wilson Sabóia, expressed delight at the victory, saying it would leave a significant mark by helping to popularise futsal further in schools, clubs and universities, ultimately developing better players and coaches.
