A 42-year-old Bangladeshi national, employed as a cleaning operative, has died following a multi-vehicle road traffic accident in the Pasir Gudang district of Johor, Malaysia. The incident, which involved three motorcycles, occurred at approximately 09:50 local time on Friday, 17 April.
According to Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, Chief of the Seri Alam District Police, the collision took place on Jalan Masai-Kong Kong. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased was operating a Honda Wave motorcycle, travelling from Masai town towards Kota Masai.
The sequence of events was reported as follows:
The Bangladeshi rider lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer into the opposing lane.
His motorcycle grazed the side of a Modinas motorcycle.
The impact caused the rider to be thrown onto the carriageway.
A third vehicle, a Yamaha 135LC approaching from behind, was unable to avoid the downed rider and collided with him.
The Bangladeshi national sustained critical injuries to the left side of his ribcage and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical responders. The operators of the other two motorcycles—Malaysian nationals aged 22 and 25—sustained minor injuries.
