The schedule for this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations has been officially announced, with theoretical exams set to commence on 21 April 2026.
The announcement was made on Thursday, 15 January, through a notice signed by Professor S.M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Controller of Examinations for the Dhaka Education Board and Chairperson of the Inter-Education Board Examination Committee. According to the official timetable, the examinations will continue until 20 May 2026, with each exam starting promptly at 10:00 AM. Practical assessments are scheduled to be completed between 7 June and 14 June 2026.
This year’s schedule represents a deviation from the usual pattern, as SSC exams are typically held in February, while Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams begin in April. Last year and this year, however, both schedules have been adjusted.
Candidates are advised to carefully follow these instructions to ensure smooth participation in the examinations:
| Serial | Instruction |
|---|---|
| 1 | Candidates must arrive 30 minutes before the exam and take their assigned seat in the examination hall. |
| 2 | Examinations must be conducted strictly according to the time indicated on the question paper. |
| 3 | Multiple-choice questions (MCQ) will be held first, followed immediately by creative/written (theoretical) exams. There will be no break between the two. |
| 4 | Admission cards must be collected from the head of the candidate’s institution at least three days before the exam. |
| 5 | Marks for Physical Education, Health Science & Sports, and Career Education will be awarded through continuous assessment as directed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, and submitted to the relevant centres. These marks, along with practical exam scores, must be uploaded online on the Board’s website. |
| 6 | Candidates must fill out their OMR forms accurately, including roll number, registration number, and subject code. Answer sheets must not be folded. |
| 7 | Candidates must pass MCQ, theoretical, and practical sections separately. |
| 8 | Candidates may only sit for subjects listed on their registration form. No substitution of subjects is allowed. |
| 9 | Admission cards must be distributed to candidates at least seven days before the exam. Institutional heads will be responsible for any delays. |
| 10 | Only calculators approved by the Education Board are allowed in examinations. |
| 11 | Mobile phones are strictly prohibited for candidates; only the centre secretary may carry them. |
| 12 | The same attendance sheet must be used for MCQ, theoretical, and practical examinations. |
| 13 | Practical examinations will be conducted at designated centres. |
| 14 | Applications for re-evaluation must be submitted online within seven days of result publication. Detailed instructions, dates, and times will be announced via newspapers and the Board’s website. |
This comprehensive set of rules aims to ensure a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates, maintaining the integrity and standard of the SSC examinations across the country.
