A thrilling five-goal encounter at Kings Arena saw a single hero emerge: Dorielton Gomez. The Brazilian forward’s brilliant hat-trick secured a 3–2 victory for Bashundhara Kings over Fortis FC in the Premier League, propelling the five-time champions to the top of the league standings and strengthening their title ambitions. After 11 matches, Kings now have 24 points, while second-placed Fortis trail closely with 21 points from an equal number of games.

The match began with high intensity, both sides exchanging attacks in a fast-paced opening half. The breakthrough came in the 19th minute when Nigerian striker Onyekachi Okafor, capitalising on a perfectly threaded pass from Pa Omar, slotted the ball past the Kings’ goalkeeper to put Fortis ahead 1–0. Concern was visible on the Kings’ bench as they faced an early deficit.

However, the champions responded swiftly. In the 24th minute, Kings’ Rakib Hossain surged down the right flank and was fouled inside the penalty area by Fortis defender Abdullah Omar. The referee did not hesitate to award a penalty. Two minutes later, Dorielton Gomez converted the spot-kick to level the score at 1–1, immediately reigniting the stadium atmosphere. Abdullah Omar received a yellow card for his foul, and the first half concluded with the teams deadlocked.

After the interval, Kings increased their attacking momentum. In the 52nd minute, a precise cross from Faisal Ahmed found Gomez, who tapped home his second goal of the match, putting Kings 2–1 ahead. Fortis remained resilient, though; in the 75th minute, Ananta Tamang rose to meet a corner from Bhutanese winger Dawa Shering, heading the ball into the net to restore parity at 2–2.

Just as Fortis supporters began to hope for a draw, Dorielton Gomez struck again in the 78th minute, slicing through Fortis’ defence to complete his hat-trick and secure a 3–2 victory for Kings. His decisive goal effectively sealed the match and extended Kings’ lead at the top of the table.

Elsewhere in the league on the same day, Abahani Limited edged past Brothers 2–1 in Munshiganj, while Arambagh thrashed PWDD 3–0 in Gazipur. After 11 matches, Abahani has claimed five wins and sits third with 19 points, whereas Arambagh has collected nine points from two victories, placing them ninth.
