Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, calling for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government. The protest, reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP), formed part of ongoing public demonstrations against the current administration.
Participants voiced opposition to the government’s handling of recent events and broader political direction. Among them, Rafael Pinaina stated that Netanyahu was “destroying our society from within” and damaging Israel’s relations with Europe and the United States. He said his participation in the demonstration was motivated by concern over these developments and their wider consequences.
Pinaina also emphasised demands being raised by sections of the public for accountability regarding the events of 7 October and the period that followed. According to him, protesters are calling on both the current and any future government to conduct an investigation, adding that citizens have a right to know the truth about what occurred.
Another demonstrator, social activist Li Hoffman-Aziv, said her presence at the rally was intended as a show of solidarity with families who lost loved ones on 7 October and during what she described as the ongoing conflict that followed. Her remarks reflected a focus among some participants on the humanitarian impact of recent violence and its aftermath.
A further protester, Haim Trivax, expressed criticism of the government’s military decisions, stating that initiating conflicts in Lebanon and Iran was a mistake. He further claimed that Netanyahu’s actions were motivated by personal legal concerns rather than national interest.
The demonstration in Tel Aviv is part of a series of public gatherings in Israel in recent months, reflecting sustained political tension and disagreement over leadership, security policy, and accountability for recent events. AFP reported that such protests have drawn varying groups, including activists, affected families, and citizens expressing broader political dissatisfaction.
