Prime Bank PLC has entered into a partnership with The Daily Star as the Title Sponsor of the distinguished O and A Levels Awards, underscoring its commitment to recognising academic excellence and empowering the nation’s youth.

The forthcoming edition of the awards will mark the 25th instalment of the programme, representing a significant milestone in its long-standing history of celebrating exceptional student achievement. For a quarter of a century, the initiative has honoured some of the most outstanding performers in internationally recognised secondary education examinations, highlighting the dedication, perseverance, and intellectual potential of young scholars in Bangladesh.

The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at a ceremony held at the headquarters of The Daily Star in Dhaka. The agreement was signed by Mahfuz Anam, Editor of The Daily Star, and M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank PLC.

The signing ceremony brought together senior officials from both organisations. Among those present were Tajdin Ahmed, Chief Business Officer of The Daily Star; Mizanur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer of Prime Bank PLC; and Syed Rayhan Tarique, Head of Brand and Communications of the bank. Other senior representatives from the two institutions also attended the event, reflecting the significance of the partnership.

Over the years, the O and A Levels Awards have established themselves as one of the most respected recognitions of academic excellence among students following international curricula. The awards acknowledge top-performing candidates who achieve remarkable results in their examinations, encouraging a culture of hard work, discipline, and intellectual curiosity.

By bringing together students, educators, and institutional leaders, the programme has played an influential role in inspiring thousands of young learners across the country. It has also highlighted the growing importance of international education in Bangladesh’s academic landscape.

Speaking at the ceremony, M. Nazeem A. Choudhury emphasised the importance of investing in the younger generation. He noted that the true strength of a nation lies in the aspirations and determination of its youth. According to him, the awards programme has consistently recognised some of the brightest minds in the country, making it a highly respected platform within the education community.

He added that Prime Bank is honoured to support the 25th edition of the awards as Title Sponsor. Through this collaboration, the bank hopes to inspire young achievers to continue striving for excellence, embrace innovation, and contribute to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Education observers note that recognition initiatives such as the O and A Levels Awards not only celebrate academic success but also motivate students to pursue higher goals. By publicly acknowledging achievement, the programme encourages a spirit of competition and excellence that benefits the broader education sector.
