Police sources and details contained in the First Information Report (FIR) indicate that the victim’s family submitted a written complaint alleging that the student had been subjected to sexual abuse. Following the filing of the case, law enforcement officials launched an immediate investigation and moved quickly to apprehend the accused.
Investigators stated that the allegations were treated with urgency because of the serious nature of the offence and the vulnerability of the alleged victim. Officers collected preliminary information from the complainants and initiated the legal process under the relevant provisions of the law designed to protect women and children from abuse and exploitation.
Nur Mohammad, the Investigation Inspector at Savar Model Police Station, confirmed that the arrest was made on the basis of the complaint submitted by the victim’s family. He said the suspect had been presented before the court after being formally shown arrested in the case.
The incident has drawn attention to concerns surrounding child protection and safeguarding measures within educational and religious institutions. Child rights advocates have frequently emphasised the importance of prompt investigations, victim support services, and strict legal action in cases involving allegations of abuse against minors.
Legal experts note that offences involving sexual violence against children are treated as grave crimes under Bangladeshi law, with investigations typically involving medical examinations, witness statements, and the collection of supporting evidence before prosecutors determine the next stages of the case.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that further action will depend on the findings of the inquiry and directions from the court. As the matter is now before the judiciary, authorities are expected to continue gathering evidence while ensuring that the rights of both the complainant and the accused are protected throughout the legal process.
