A newborn infant’s body was discovered floating in a নদী in Kendua upazila of Netrokona, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The উদ্ধার took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday (29 March) in the Konapara ferry ghat area along the Suti Saiduli River, located within the Nowapara ইউনিয়ন. স্থানীয় residents first noticed the ছোট্ট দেহটি drifting in the water and promptly alerted law enforcement authorities.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Kendua Police Station arrived at the scene and recovered the body. According to Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Maksud, the infant was identified as a ছেলে নবজাতক, though no identity has yet been established. পুলিশ subsequently prepared an inquest report before sending the body to Netrokona Sadar Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities believe that the findings of the autopsy will play a crucial role in determining the cause of death and whether the incident involved foul play or abandonment. পুলিশ have initiated a formal investigation and are working to identify the শিশুটির পরিবার or any ব্যক্তি who may be connected to the ঘটনা.

Community members expressed concern over the apparent vulnerability of newborns and called for greater awareness and preventive measures to avoid such tragedies.

Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information regarding the infant or suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
