A domestic dispute in Mahadebpur Upazila of Naogaon District, Bangladesh, has ended in tragedy after a woman died from injuries sustained in a stabbing allegedly carried out by her husband. The accused has since been arrested and sent to prison following a court order.

The victim, identified as Afsona Mimi, was reportedly attacked on 16 March during a family conflict at their rented residence in the Doulalpara area of Mahadebpur Upazila. Her husband, Saddam Hossain (Sagar), allegedly inflicted multiple stab wounds on her, leaving her critically injured.

Following the incident, neighbours and family members rescued her and initially took her to a local medical facility. Due to the severity of her condition, she was later transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Despite intensive care, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday, 27 March.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the accused was apprehended on Saturday night (28 March) from the Bokapur area of the same upazila. He was subsequently produced before a court on Sunday, 29 March, and was ordered to be sent to prison.

According to police, the couple had been living in rented accommodation in Doulalpara while facing ongoing domestic disputes. Authorities believe the incident escalated from a prolonged family conflict, culminating in the fatal attack.
