Renowned West Bengal singer Nachiketa Chakraborty fell suddenly ill on Saturday night. He experienced unexpected discomfort and was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kolkata. Anandabazar Patrika and other West Bengal media outlets have reported on his illness.
The 61-year-old artist had been performing at consecutive musical events over several days. On Saturday night, he developed chest discomfort and was admitted to hospital around 2:00 a.m. Due to cardiac issues, two stents were placed in his chest. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is now stable.
Nachiketa’s daughter, Dhansiri Chakraborty, said her father is better than before. She stated, “His health was fine previously. He had participated in multiple programmes. When he fell ill suddenly, we immediately took him to hospital without delay. There was a temporary heart problem, but now he is much better.”
Sources close to the singer reported that although he has had various health issues, he had no prior heart problems. Recent consecutive performances had put physical strain on him. A scheduled event in Asansol on Sunday had to be cancelled due to his condition, and upcoming performances over the next few days have also been postponed.
