Renowned Bangladeshi singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel was granted bail on Tuesday following his arrest the previous day over allegations of financial fraud and threats to disseminate compromising photos and videos on social media. Upon receiving bail, Nobel took to the court premises and performed one of his popular songs, declaring to the gathered media and spectators, “To err is human.”

Nobel, who has faced multiple legal controversies over the years, was asked by reporters about his reflections on the case. He responded candidly: “Everyone makes mistakes. It happened this time, and it could happen again.” Addressing his fans directly, he added, “All my listeners understand me well. I hope they will forgive me.” He then performed his hit song Meherban at the request of journalists present.

Arrest and Case Details

Nobel was arrested on Monday afternoon from the Bottola area of Siddhirganj Thana in Narayanganj by police authorities. The case originates from a complaint filed on 13 August last year by a woman at the CMM Court in Dhaka. She alleged that Nobel, under the pretext of marriage, had defrauded her of money and violated her personal privacy.

Following the complaint, the Court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a report. After the PBI concluded its investigation, the court issued arrest warrants on 2 February of this year against Nobel and three other individuals implicated in the case.

Nobel’s legal representative confirmed that he will comply with all court instructions moving forward, and the court has emphasised that all procedural requirements must be strictly observed as the investigation continues. Observers note that while this incident has temporarily cast a shadow over Nobel’s career, it also demonstrates the singer’s continued connection with his audience, who responded positively to his message of remorse and his musical performance.
