Bangladesh’s central banking and financial authorities have released the updated foreign exchange rates for today, 18 October 2026, outlining the benchmark mid-market and commercial rates across key international currencies.
The figures reflect current macroeconomic liquidity and foreign trade movements within the domestic banking sector. According to official data, the US Dollar (USD) is currently trading between ৳123.00 and ৳123.06, remaining a crucial reference point for international trade settlement, import payments, and bilateral reserves.
European and Western currencies continue to demonstrate standard volatility against the local currency. The Euro (EUR) is hovering in the range of ৳138.05 to ৳138.28, whilst the British Pound Sterling (GBP) remains one of the strongest foreign currencies in the domestic market, changing hands between ৳163.07 and ৳163.93. These valuations play a vital role in determining export revenue from key international markets, particularly textiles and ready-made garments shipped to Europe and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Middle Eastern currencies hold substantial weight due to Bangladesh’s extensive migrant workforce and the steady inflow of foreign remittances. The Saudi Riyal (SAR) is currently pegged at ৳32.50, and the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) stands firmly at ৳33.00. Earnings channelled through formal banking networks in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region remain a foundational pillar for national foreign exchange reserves and household consumption across the country.
Within regional and Asian commerce, trade settlements reflect proportional stability. The Indian Rupee (INR) is trading at a range of ৳1.27 to ৳1.29, maintaining consistency for cross-border commerce, medical travel, and consumer goods imports. The Singapore Dollar (SGD) is priced at ৳96.21, whereas the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is quoted at ৳28.10.
Financial institutions and authorised forex dealers across the country are expected to execute retail transactions, currency exchanges, and commercial letters of credit near these declared figures, subject to individual bank margin adjustments.
