The international lighter manufacturer Zippo has officially launched its collaboration with the Bangladeshi rock band Warfaze, following a contractual agreement signed in the previous year. With this development, Warfaze becomes the first musical band from South Asia to enter into an official partnership with Zippo, a company widely known for its longstanding global collaborations with musicians and cultural figures.
The collaboration has now been activated through the release of two limited-edition collectible lighters. These products are inspired by the band’s musical journey and are being distributed in Bangladesh through Zippo’s official channels. The brand’s marketing and distribution operations in the country are overseen by Luxco Trading Limited.
The newly introduced Zippo editions are designed around two of Warfaze’s notable albums. Each design reflects distinct phases of the band’s artistic identity and history.
| Edition | Inspiration Source | Design Reference | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Edition | Album “Warfaze” | Visual and thematic inspiration from the band’s debut album | Available via official Zippo Bangladesh platform |
| Second Edition | Album “Pothchola” | Inspired by the album’s artwork and conceptual theme | Available via official Zippo Bangladesh platform |
Both editions are positioned as collectible items within Zippo’s global approach of integrating cultural and artistic themes into limited-run consumer products. The release marks the first phase of the collaboration between the brand and the band.
Warfaze drummer and band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu stated that the band’s music has consistently remained connected to different generations of listeners. He described the partnership with Zippo as a significant milestone, noting that Warfaze is the first South Asian band to be formally associated with the global brand.
He also highlighted Zippo’s historical involvement with musicians across the world over several decades. According to him, Warfaze’s inclusion in such collaborations reflects the band’s long-standing presence in the music industry spanning more than forty years.
Tipu further referred to the band’s recent recognition with the Ekushey Padak, one of Bangladesh’s national honours, and stated that the achievement reflects the continuous support of the audience rather than individual accomplishment.
Managing Director of Luxco Trading Limited, Irfan Hossain, stated that the collaboration aims to develop a structured collectible culture in Bangladesh through branded cultural products. He added that future releases inspired by cultural and artistic themes are planned under the Zippo brand, although no specific product details or timelines were disclosed.
The partnership between Zippo and Warfaze represents a formal integration of music heritage with branded collectible merchandise in the Bangladeshi market. It also reflects the growing presence of international lifestyle brands engaging with South Asian creative industries through licensed local distribution frameworks.
With Luxco Trading Limited managing operations in Bangladesh, the initial launch of Warfaze-themed Zippo lighters marks the beginning of a structured collaboration that may expand through additional collectible releases in the future.
