In Borohanuddin upazila of Bhola district, police have arrested a married couple in possession of Yaba tablets during a targeted anti-narcotics operation.
The arrests were made on Saturday (2 May) in the evening at Moulaipattan area under Ward No. 9 of Tabgi Union. Acting on specific information, a police team conducted the operation at the residential premises of the suspects and recovered a quantity of illegal drugs from the house.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Md. Zakir Hossain (38) and his wife Taslima Begum (35). Both are residents of the Moulaipattan area within Borohanuddin upazila.
According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Borohanuddin Police Station, Moniruzzaman, a total of 700 pieces of Yaba tablets were seized from the accused during the raid. He confirmed that the narcotics were recovered from their residential house, after which both husband and wife were taken into police custody.
Following the arrest, a case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act. Police stated that legal proceedings are underway in connection with the recovered contraband substances.
Law enforcement officials further noted that anti-drug operations in the area are continuing as part of ongoing efforts to curb the spread and trafficking of illegal narcotics within the region. The arrest is part of a broader policing initiative targeting drug-related offences across Bhola district.
