The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has introduced a heavily modified technical panel for its High-Performance (HP) department, finalising a structured framework of appointments to spearhead the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe ‘A’. Operating as the primary pipeline for the senior national side, the HP unit receives meticulous structural planning and independent calendar allocations from the BCB each year. For the current cycle, the governing body has rolled out a comprehensive tactical and administrative reorganisation.
Central to this new strategy is the appointment of veteran domestic coach Mohammad Salahuddin as Head Coach. The BCB has entrusted the seasoned strategist, who brings a wealth of experience from previous technical stints with the national senior squad, to oversee the progression of the country’s elite emerging cricketers. The board has surrounded Salahuddin with an entirely updated group of specialist coaches to alter the operational dynamics of the HP system.
The new coaching configuration will formally debut on the field following the arrival of the touring Zimbabwean delegation. Mohammad Salahuddin will lead a staff composed of both seasoned local instructors and international specialists.
Former West Indies Test bowler Corey Collymore will continue to guide the fast bowlers as the Pace Bowling Coach, while slow-bowling operations fall under the purview of former national left-arm orthodox spinner Abdur Razzak as Spin Bowling Coach. The defensive and structural drills will be managed by Ashik Majumder in his capacity as Fielding Coach, with Sohel Islam providing overarching support as Assistant Coach.
The official itinerary for the bilateral developmental tour is locked in, commencing with the arrival of the Zimbabwe ‘A’ squad in Dhaka on 3 June 2026. The competitive encounters will bridge both limited-overs and multi-day formats, shared across three distinct cricketing venues in the country.
The white-ball phase features a three-match 50-over One Day International (ODI) series scheduled for 8, 10, and 13 June 2026. These encounters are split between the northern divisional venues of Bogra and Rajshahi.
Once the limited-overs trophy concludes, the tour will pivot to long-format red-ball cricket. The two teams will travel to the northeastern sector of the nation to play two consecutive 4-day first-class fixtures. Both multi-day red-ball matches will take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
