The Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) collected a total toll revenue of approximately 64 crore Taka (BDT 640 million) from the Padma and Jamuna bridges over a 10-day period. According to an official press release issued by the authority, the revenue was generated between 21 May and 30 May 2026, driven by a massive surge in holiday traffic surrounding the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The financial and operational data provided by the BBA highlights the immense volume of traffic sustained by the two vital arterial links. Over the course of the designated 10 days, a combined total of 679,997 vehicles utilised the crossings.
On the Padma Bridge, a total of 318,515 vehicles transited the structure, resulting in a gross toll collection of Tk 36,11,95,900. Concurrently, the Jamuna Bridge (Bangabandhu Bridge) recorded higher vehicular volumes, with 361,482 vehicles crossing the river. This traffic stream brought in a total toll revenue of Tk 27,68,54,900.
The BBA statement emphasised that the proactive and effective management strategies deployed at both installations successfully ensured safe, seamless, and completely uninterrupted road travel for hundreds of thousands of seasonal commuters.
| Infrastructure Asset | Total Vehicular Volume | Total Toll Revenue (BDT) |
| Padma Bridge | 318,515 | Tk 36,11,95,900 |
| Jamuna Bridge | 361,482 | Tk 27,68,54,900 |
| Combined Totals | 679,997 | Tk 63,80,50,800 |
In a corporate statement, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, the Secretary of the Bridges Division and the Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, attributed the operational success to coordinated government supervision. He stated that the Prime Minister prioritises seamless national transit networks to guarantee that citizens can complete their holiday journeys safely and efficiently.
Secretary Rouf further noted that both the Minister and the Minister of State for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges maintained round-the-clock monitoring of the highway networks throughout the peak transit window. This high-level oversight, paired with the strategic deployment of additional toll booths and highway security personnel, ultimately made the mass exodus of home-bound citizens far more orderly and comfortable.
