In a concerted law enforcement operation, police in the Narsingdi district have apprehended 19 individuals involved in drug trafficking, theft, gambling, and other criminal activities over a 24-hour period. The arrests took place in various locations under the jurisdiction of the Siddhirganj Police Station.
The crackdown, which concluded on the morning of Wednesday, 11 March, resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics, including 157 sachets of heroin, 200 grams of cannabis, and 15 yaba tablets. Following their arrest, the suspects were formally charged and remanded to court for further legal proceedings.
According to police sources, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Narsingdi Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi.
