In a precautionary measure to ensure safety and prevent unwanted incidents, the family of Osman Hadi, the late spokesperson of Inquilab Manch, has been instructed not to speak to anyone or receive visitors during the night, according to police officials from Nalchity Police Station. The directive comes amid heightened security concerns following Hadi’s sudden death in Singapore.
Sub-Inspector Sherjahan of Nalchity Police Station confirmed the measure, stating that the family members are deeply distressed and unwell after the loss of Hadi. “Out of respect for the family’s grief and to protect them from potential risks, no one will meet or speak with them tonight. They will be available to speak to the public and officials from Friday morning onwards,” he added.
Osman Hadi, aged 54, passed away at Singapore General Hospital on Thursday evening at approximately 9:30 pm (Singapore time). His death has sent shockwaves through political and social circles, as he was a prominent figure in the Inquilab Manch and had been involved in several political and community initiatives in Bangladesh.
Authorities emphasised that the directive is both a security precaution and a gesture of sensitivity toward the grieving family. The police are coordinating closely with local and international contacts to ensure the family’s safe return to Bangladesh, should arrangements be made for repatriation.
Osman Hadi had been receiving advanced medical treatment in Singapore following injuries sustained during a targeted attack in Dhaka in early December. Despite intensive care, his condition deteriorated, leading to his passing. His death marks a significant moment in the nation’s political landscape, and numerous civic organisations have expressed condolences.
Law enforcement officials have reiterated that all security measures will remain in place to safeguard Hadi’s family and prevent any public disturbances during this sensitive period. Community leaders and well-wishers are expected to pay their respects in the coming days, under strict police supervision.
