Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman has officially assumed the prestigious position of Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division.
The formal ceremony took place on Monday, 23 February, during which Prime Minister Tarique Rahman ceremoniously conferred the Lieutenant General rank insignia upon him. The event was attended by the highest-ranking military officials of the country, including Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan.
According to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman formally took charge of his duties as the PSO with immediate effect. The Prime Minister, in the presence of the top military leadership, pinned the rank insignia, marking the official assumption of office.
Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman was commissioned into the Corps of Infantry of the Bangladesh Army on 21 June 1991. Over a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, he has held a variety of key command and staff appointments. His notable positions include General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division, Military Secretary and Director General at the Defence Procurement Directorate, as well as several other senior roles within the Army, demonstrating his extensive experience in both operational command and strategic administration.
