Several leading firms in the United States insurance industry have unveiled significant senior leadership changes this week, signalling a renewed focus on operational efficiency, underwriting excellence, and growth in employee benefits services. The appointments come amid strategic organisational transformations aimed at strengthening both market responsiveness and client-centric capabilities.

Andover Expands Executive Leadership

The Andover Companies appointed two veteran executives to pivotal leadership roles, effective 1 March 2026, as part of a broader succession and organisational development strategy.

Paul Nadeau has been named Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. A long-standing member of Andover since 1992, Nadeau has extensive experience across personal and commercial lines underwriting, product development, business intelligence, loss control, and reinsurance. In his expanded role, he will oversee enterprise-wide operations including underwriting, claims, marketing, reinsurance, digital platforms, and information technology.

Patrick Duchette has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. Joining Andover in 2008, Duchette brings nearly two decades of industry experience and will now lead both personal and commercial lines underwriting, product development, and loss control initiatives.

This leadership update follows Andover’s recent transition to a mutual holding company structure, designed to maintain its mutual heritage while providing strategic flexibility for long-term growth.

Church Mutual Strengthens Operational Leadership

Church Mutual Insurance Company has implemented internal promotions to reinforce its operational and underwriting leadership.

Pam Rushing has been elevated to Chief Operating Officer, focusing on digital transformation, process optimisation, and consistent operations across claims and IT. Rushing joined Church Mutual in June 2023, bringing experience from a senior leadership role at another national insurer.

Neil Ziegler has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer for Admitted Business. Since joining in January 2025 as Vice President of Religious Markets Underwriting, Ziegler, with over 20 years of underwriting experience, now oversees admitted underwriting strategy, broker support, risk selection, and performance alignment.

These changes reflect Church Mutual’s emphasis on operational resilience and market responsiveness.

Alliant Invests in Employee Benefits

Alliant Insurance Services has appointed Reed Anders as Senior Vice President in its Employee Benefits Group. Based in Chicago, Anders will drive growth initiatives, including work with the newly launched Alliant Affinity practice. With extensive experience in large-scale integrations, operational modernisation, and financial transformation—including previous roles as CFO and COO of a national affinity business—Anders’ appointment supports Alliant’s strategic push to enhance competitiveness in the employee benefits market.
