Bangladesh experienced yet another earthquake on Saturday, 27 September, at 2:27 PM. The tremor registered a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre located in Monirampur Upazila, Jessore.
According to the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the epicentre was confirmed to be in Monirampur.

This marks the third earthquake felt in the country this month.
Md. Rubaiyat Kabir, acting officer of the BMD’s Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, stated: “Today’s earthquake had a magnitude of 3.5. It is considered a low-intensity tremor, with its epicentre in Monirampur.”
The BMD further noted in its release that the epicentre is located 157 kilometres south-west of the capital, Dhaka.
For reference, the 14 September tremor in Assam had its epicentre between the Assam Valley and the Himalayan region, near Guwahati, India. That earthquake was moderate to strong, while the recent Jessore tremor is much weaker.
