Moldova’s pro-European Union ruling party has claimed a decisive victory in parliamentary elections, securing more than 50 percent of the vote, according to official results released on Monday.
With over 99.5 percent of ballots counted, the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), led by President Maia Sandu, obtained 50.03 percent of the vote. In contrast, the pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc received 24.26 percent, the election commission’s website reported.
| Party | Vote Share | Political Orientation | Leader |
| Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) | 50.03% | Pro-European Union | Maia Sandu |
| Patriotic Bloc | 24.26% | Pro-Russian | – |
The result confirms PAS’s continued dominance in Moldovan politics and reinforces the country’s pro-EU trajectory, while the pro-Russian opposition remains significantly behind.
These elections were closely monitored both domestically and internationally, given Moldova’s strategic position between Russia and the European Union and the ongoing geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe.
The outcome allows President Sandu and her party to pursue further reforms and strengthen ties with the EU, consolidating their influence in the nation’s legislative agenda.
