Heavy gunfire broke out once again between Afghan forces and the Pakistani military in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, Afghanistan. At least four Afghan civilians have been killed and another four injured, according to local sources cited by Tolo News.

Reports indicate that the casualties occurred in Majal Gali and Lukman villages on Friday evening when Pakistani mortar shells hit the area. Among the injured are one woman and one man, whose conditions are reported to be critical. They are receiving treatment at Aino Mina Hospital.

Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed the attack on social media, stating that Pakistani forces initiated aggression on Afghan territory. He added that Afghan forces retaliated after the evening attack in Spin Boldak district.

Meanwhile, Pakistani publication Dawn reported heavy gunfire between the two militaries late Friday night at the Chaman border. Officials from both countries have blamed each other for the incident.

Pakistani authorities claimed that Afghan forces fired mortar shells in Badani area, prompting retaliation. The Pakistani side described the attack as an act of aggression.

A senior official in Quetta, speaking on condition of anonymity to Dawn, said the conflict started around 10 pm on Friday and continued until midnight. Muhammad Weiss, medical superintendent of Chaman district hospital, confirmed that three injured individuals, including a woman, were brought to the hospital.
