Kushtia’s Daulatpur Upazila witnessed a sudden outbreak of gunfire on Monday afternoon, resulting in three people being shot and injured. The violent incident is believed to have stemmed from a long-standing personal feud between two local groups.

The escalation reportedly began when tensions flared over previous disputes, eventually degenerating into a violent clash. Eyewitnesses reported hearing several rounds of gunfire, causing panic among residents.
Local residents were quick to provide assistance, giving preliminary medical care at the site before the injured were transferred to the Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex for further treatment.

According to residents, the conflict traces back to an earlier incident involving the theft of corrugated iron sheets from Anichur Rahman’s home. This theft reportedly reignited animosities, eventually culminating in the gunfire exchange.

Police have yet to obtain statements from the accused, and their involvement remains under investigation.
Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arifur Rahman confirmed the shooting and stated, “This incident was the result of a long-standing feud. Three people were injured. No arrests have been made so far, and extra police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.”
