Arsenal have secured the future of Bukayo Saka, as the England winger has signed a long-term contract keeping him at the club until June 2030, according to ESPN.
Saka’s previous deal was due to run until 2027, but discussions that began in January culminated on Thursday night with the announcement of a new agreement under updated terms.
The fresh contract propels Saka into the upper echelons of Premier League earners, with a weekly salary now exceeding £300,000. Within this elite bracket, only Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Casemiro, and Virgil van Dijk earn more.
Under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta, Saka has been Arsenal’s most utilised outfield player. Having progressed through the club’s academy, he made his first-team debut in 2018. Since then, he has amassed 297 appearances, contributing 78 goals.
Speaking to the club’s media, Saka reflected on his decision:
“This is a special moment for me and my family. I’m delighted to continue my journey at this club and want to win everything here.”
Saka’s sole major trophy with Arsenal to date remains the 2020 FA Cup. However, this season the Gunners are well-positioned across multiple competitions, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, aiming for further silverware.
Beyond his on-field contributions, Saka has become a vital figure in the squad’s leadership. In the absence of captain Martin Ødegaard, he has worn the captain’s armband in several matches this season, demonstrating his growing influence at just 24 years old.
