Rishi Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s most iconic legends, continues to live on in the hearts of millions through his timeless films. For his family—his wife Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor—the void left by his absence remains immeasurable.

On what would have been his 73rd birthday, Neetu Kapoor was overcome with emotion. She took to social media, sharing a treasured old video that once again reminded fans of Rishi’s playful charm and unforgettable presence.

The video, which Neetu uploaded on her Instagram handle, was a clipping from Khullam Khulla – Live with Rishi Kapoor. It captured Rishi in his mischievous best, lighting up the atmosphere with his humour and energy.

In the video, several familiar faces could be seen, including:

  • Randhir Kapoor (Rishi’s elder brother)
  • Ranbir Kapoor (son)
  • Riddhima Kapoor Sahni (daughter)
  • Rima Jain (sister)
  • Ramesh Sippy (director)
  • Jeetendra (veteran actor)
  • and many other close friends and family members.

Neetu captioned the video with heartfelt simplicity: “You will always live in our hearts, happy birthday.”

The actor was last seen in the film Sharmaji Namkeen, a comedy-drama directed by Hitesh Bhatia.

  • Filming began in January 2020 but was interrupted due to Rishi Kapoor’s sudden demise.
  • Veteran actor Paresh Rawal was later cast to complete Rishi’s remaining portions.
  • The film was released on 31 March 2022 on Amazon Prime Video, marking a poignant farewell to one of cinema’s most loved stars.

Rishi Kapoor’s later years were marked by his battle with leukaemia.
