The three-match ODI series currently stands at a 1-1 deadlock, making the upcoming encounter in Chattogram a crucial series decider. The tour began at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. In the opening match, the visiting New Zealand side secured a victory by 26 runs.
However, the host nation, Bangladesh, mounted a successful comeback in the second ODI held at the same venue. Yesterday, the home side defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets, effectively levelling the series and setting the stage for the final clash in the port city.
Following the conclusion of the ODI series, the two nations will transition to the shortest format of the game for a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series. The first two T20I matches are scheduled to be held in Chattogram on 27 April and 29 April respectively.
The teams will then return to the capital for the third and final T20I, which will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on 2 May. All matches within the T20I series are scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm. The BCB has indicated that logistics and security measures are in place to facilitate the transition between the two formats across the two host cities.
