Israel’s defence exports reached an unprecedented record of $19.2 billion in 2025, driven by surging global demand. According to official data confirmed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, this figure represents an approximate 30 per cent increase compared to the previous year’s performance.
This milestone marks the fifth consecutive year that Israel’s military exports have surpassed all prior records. Over a five-year trajectory, these export figures have more than doubled, whilst over the past decade, the total volume has expanded nearly fourfold. The Ministry of Defense stated that the domestic defence industry secured hundreds of new contracts worldwide throughout the year, operating under the direct guidance and support of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (IMOD).
Out of the total $19.2 billion generated in 2025, a significant portion was driven by large-scale transactions. High-value “mega-deals”—defined as individual contracts valued at $100 million or more—accounted for approximately 53 per cent of the total annual export value.
In terms of specific technology sectors, missiles, rockets, and air defence systems remained the primary drivers of export growth, securing the largest share of the market. This sector accounted for 29 per cent of all signed agreements. This was followed closely by surveillance and optronics systems at 22 per cent, and radar and electronic warfare equipment at 11 per cent.
| Defence Sector | Share of Total Contracts (%) |
| Missiles, Rockets, and Air Defence Systems | 29% |
| Surveillance and Optronics Systems | 22% |
| Radar and Electronic Warfare Equipment | 11% |
| Other Defence Sectors / Services | 38% |
The Ministry of Defense noted that Israel has been engaged in multi-front warfare since October 2023. This ongoing operational environment provided a platform to demonstrate the real-world performance of its military assets. The proven battlefield efficacy of these systems has led to a substantial rise in international interest in Israeli defence technology.
Geographically, European nations constituted the largest market for Israeli military exports in 2025, securing 36 per cent of the total contract value. The Asia-Pacific region followed as the second-largest market, accounting for 32 per cent. The remaining agreements were distributed across the Middle East and North Africa, North America, and other global regions.
| Geographic Region | Share of Total Contracts (%) |
| Europe | 36% |
| Asia-Pacific | 32% |
| Middle East and North Africa (MENA) | 15% |
| North America | 13% |
| Other Regions | 4% |
The steady growth highlights a sustained global demand for advanced military technologies, solidifying the defence sector’s position within Israel’s export economy.
