Speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappé of Kylian Mbappe has intensified in Spain, with sections of the media suggesting that the French forward may not be fully committed to Real Madrid amid an apparent focus on upcoming international duties. Reports in Madrid-based outlets fuelled rumours that the striker could be conserving his energy ahead of the World Cup rather than giving his absolute maximum for his club. However, Mbappé has now firmly dismissed such claims, responding with calmness and humour.

In a recent interview with Téléfoot, Mbappé rejected suggestions that his dedication to Real Madrid is in question. Laughing off the narrative, he insisted that his ambition to win at club level remains as strong as ever. “Of course I want to win with Real Madrid,” he said, adding that certain voices in Spain appear “overly concerned” about his commitment, even jokingly implying that some believe he is already mentally preparing for the World Cup.

His remarks come at a crucial stage of the season for Real Madrid, who remain engaged in both domestic and European competitions, including the highly competitive UEFA Champions League. A looming clash with Bayern Munich has further heightened expectations, with Mbappé highlighting the German side’s current form while reaffirming Real Madrid’s reputation as one of the few clubs capable of overcoming such elite opposition.

Club officials have also moved to support the forward amid the debate. Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa emphasised that there is no concern regarding Mbappé’s commitment or fitness, stating that players of his calibre are naturally called up for international duty. He further confirmed that the French striker is fully fit and capable of performing at the highest level for both club and country.

Beyond club football, attention has also turned to France national football team. Reflecting on France’s evolution since their 2022 World Cup campaign, Mbappé offered a measured assessment, acknowledging the team’s growing pool of talent but refusing to label them definitively stronger. He stressed that only results on the pitch can provide a true answer, underlining his belief that football is ultimately decided by performance rather than reputation.

Mbappé also warned against complacency, particularly regarding France’s status as World Cup favourites. He cautioned that early overconfidence could be dangerous, pointing out that even lesser-fancied teams are capable of delivering shocks on the biggest stage.

As his career has progressed, Mbappé’s role has evolved significantly. Once regarded primarily as a prodigious young talent, he now carries the responsibilities of leadership both at club and international level. Reflecting on this transition, he admitted with a smile that he sometimes feels unexpectedly older within the squad dynamic, as he is now required to look after younger teammates rather than being the one protected.

Despite external noise, Mbappé’s message remains consistent: his commitment to both Real Madrid and France is unwavering, and his focus remains firmly on delivering success wherever he plays.
