Bangladesh have won the toss and chosen to bat first in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against Australia at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Having already established an unassailable 2-0 lead to secure their first-ever bilateral ODI series triumph against the tourists, the hosts enter this final fixture targeting a historic 3-0 series clean-sweep. The match is scheduled to commence at 11:00 am local time.
The home side has altered their starting line-up with two changes for this dead-rubber encounter. Standing captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who led the team during Thursday’s historic five-wicket victory in the second ODI but sustained an injury during the match, has been officially rested. In his absence, vice-captain Najmul Hossain Shanto steps up to assume the captaincy responsibilities for the national side.
In addition to Miraz, the team management has rested fast bowler Nahid Rana. The two players have been replaced in the final playing eleven by bowling all-rounder Mahedi Hasan and left-arm seam bowler Shoriful Islam.
Concurrently, Australia have reconfigured their squad under captain Josh Inglis, executing several personnel rotations as they attempt to salvage a consolation victory on foreign soil.
The confirmed playing elevens for both competing teams in Mirpur are structured as follows:
| Bangladesh XI | Australia XI |
| Najmul Hossain Shanto (c) | Josh Inglis (c) |
| Soumya Sarkar | Xavier Bartlett |
| Tanzid Hasan Tamim | Alex Carey |
| Towhid Hridoy | Cooper Connolly |
| Litton Kumar Das | Ben Dwarshuis |
| Mosaddek Hossain Saikat | Cameron Green |
| Tanvir Islam | Marnus Labuschagne |
| Mustafizur Rahman | Matt Renshaw |
| Taskin Ahmed | Liam Scott |
| Shoriful Islam | Oli Davies |
| Mahedi Hasan | Adam Zampa |
Bangladesh secured their series victory on the back of consecutive, dominant performances in the opening two fixtures in Mirpur. The defining tactical highlight of the series occurred during the second ODI, when the host nation’s opening pace bowlers dismantled the Australian top order, reducing the visitors to an unprecedented zero runs for the loss of three wickets.
Following the conclusion of this final ODI, both teams will travel to Chattogram. The squads are scheduled to play a subsequent three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series, with the first short-format game set to commence on 17 June.
