In a swift and coordinated operation, police in Chattogram have successfully rescued a three-year-old girl who was abducted in Rauzan Upazila, apprehending three suspects and seizing the vehicle used in the crime.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rubel, 45; Md. Zahed, 26; and Munsur Alam, 32. The operation took place late Monday night in the Bayezid Bostami police station area of Chattogram city. Alongside the suspects, the victim, Nabila Akter, was recovered unharmed.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon at approximately 3:17 PM. Nabila was playing with children of a similar age outside her home, near the East side of Saint Martin Club at Baijyakhaly Gate in Urkirchar Union, when unknown individuals abducted her using a CNG-run three-wheeler. Following the incident, her father immediately filed a missing person report at Rauzan Police Station (GD No.–488).
During the course of the abduction, one of the kidnappers contacted Nabila’s father, demanding a ransom of BDT 500,000 for her release. Promptly acting on this information, the Chattogram District Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan, directed a targeted operation under the leadership of Rauzan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Sazedul Islam. The police conducted a thorough review of CCTV footage from the vicinity and used technical surveillance tools to trace the suspects’ location, leading to their successful capture.
