Two Motorcyclists Killed in Head-On Truck Collision

Two motorcyclists tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision with a truck in Madārīpur on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred around 1:00 pm in Bahadurpur, within the Sadar Upazila.

The victims have been identified as Saiful Islam, 32, son of Rafiqul Islam from Kalirbazar, Shirkhara Union, Madārīpur Sadar, and Nazmul Khan, 16, son of Panna Khan from Sonapara, Isibpur Union, Rajair Upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Saiful Islam and his relative Nazmul Khan were travelling by motorcycle from Shrinadi area of Madārīpur Sadar towards the city centre when the incident occurred. At Bahadurpur, their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck moving at high speed. Both motorcyclists were caught under the truck’s wheels, sustaining fatal injuries.

They were immediately rescued and rushed to Madārīpur 250-Bed District Hospital, but doctors declared both deceased upon arrival.

Victims’ Details

OC Abul Kalam Azad of Madārīpur Sadar Model Police Station confirmed that the bodies have been preserved at the hospital morgue. He also stated that legal action will be taken following an investigation into the collision.

This incident highlights the persistent issue of reckless driving in the region, particularly involving heavy vehicles on narrow roads. Local authorities have urged drivers to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life.
